Our focus is on improving outcomes for children and young people. The Capita Strategic Children’s Services team specialise in all aspects of school improvement, through interim management and consultancy support for local authorities, schools and other organisations. Our consultants build capacity by working alongside colleagues, taking on interim roles and helping organisations to improve their performance.

Specialist support relating to the secondary phase includes:

  • The provision of interim managers – Heads of School Effectiveness/specialist subject advisers and School Improvement Partners
  • Analysis of organisational systems, structures and resources, and making recommendations to improve effectiveness
  • Change management roles to assure effective implementation of new structures and processes
  • Current issues for ‘learn and achieve services, recent legislation and policy priorities
  • Data and school performance target setting activities
  • National Challenge and Behaviour and Attendance
  • Providing analysis of 14 – 19 provision and making recommendations for the future
  • Services and support for children with SEN and disabilities
  • Ofsted arrangements with respect to schools and settings
  • Governance, parent and pupil voices
  • Support for Building Schools for the Future – statement of vision SF planning, proposals and implementation
  • Support for performance management, leading to improved accountability and outcomes
  • Advice and support for schools and local authorities for initiatives such as Trusts, Federations and Academies

Through its management of the National Strategies contract for the DfE, the provision of interim managers and specialist consultancy support for local authorities, Capita Strategic Children’s Services has an excellent track record of success in this area, and can draw on a wide range of other expertise within the team and through Associates.
