How to join us

We are always interested to hear from appropriately experienced senior leaders with a successful track record within the public, private or voluntary sectors.  A strong commitment to improving the life chances of children and young people is at the heart of our work and all our staff demonstrate this in their day to day work.  We need staff who continue to welcome challenge and have the resilience to succeed in new and potentially difficult assignments.

If you are interested in working with us you must be willing to work in a variety of roles (interim management and consultancy) within different locations.  In return we can offer you an attractive remuneration package and the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated people.

The nature and range of work will offer you the chance to develop your skills and career pathways. A number of our team have moved on from successful work with Capita Strategic Children's Services to promotion within Local Authorities, including a number as Directors of Children’s Services.  Others have joined us as accomplished Local Authority staff and are now establishing a track record and national reputation as outstanding interim managers or as leading experts in their field.

Should you join us we would seek to place you on assignments which take account of your preferences, expertise and experience. This will sometimes be a placement as an interim manager or consultant, either alone or as part of a Capita Strategic Children's Services team, or could involve work in support of a number of projects.    Assignments may be long term over several months or short-term over a few weeks.  At all times we aim to meet the needs of our clients and to deliver the highest quality of services.

You will need to be flexible about the location of your work, which could mean having to live away from home on occasions during the week. This is less likely to be the case if you live in or near to London, as we have been particularly successful in winning contracts in the London area. We cover all travel and accommodation expenses if/when you have to stay away from home.  If there are any limitations on the location of assignments that you would be able to undertake we would be grateful if you could make that clear in your application.

We hold twice yearly recruitment exercises when opportunities are advertised in the national press.  In addition we also welcome expressions of interest at other times of year.  If you are interested to learn more about Capita Strategic Children's Services then please submit your CV to Fiona Hartley- email: Fiona.Hartley@capita.co.uk
