A local authority’s Joint Area Review (JAR) identified the need to improve performance management within the Children, Education and Families (CEF) Directorate. The inspection found limited evidence of a detailed planned roll-out of the existing performance management system.
A new performance management framework was introduced which located the CYPP as the central element in the CEF Directorate’s planning and performance process including a corporate e-enabled performance management system.
A process and culture across the local authority was developed to understand and value performance management as a key tool in driving improved outcomes.
