Education vision and planning

The client required a Vision Statement for the way schools could work together to deliver Children’s Services within the context of a new town. Capita Strategic Children’s Services negotiated elements of the Vision with the key stakeholder groups and the analysis of the space requirements to help to inform S106 negotiations.

In addition, an analysis of the options for the governance of the new schools was completed with an emphasis on the ways schools could work in partnership to provide services.

What was achieved?

Key successes have included the following:

  • The Phase One education vision for the new town has been written which outlines the strategic issues in relation to the planning for and establishment of the required new schools.
  • Consultation systems have been put in place and a proxy community group having been established.
  • The number of new schools has been agreed assuming housing development is in line with plans.
  • The implications for Post-16 provision has been assessed together with the implications of the development for extended schools, Children’s Centres and community use
  • Small changes, for example in how people work or in modest additional support, have been identified as leading to improved outcomes
