About us

Capita Strategic Children’s Services is one of the fastest growing providers of strategic support to Local Authority Children’s Services and other public sector bodies. Our success is built on the quality of our team members and our determination to make a difference to children and young people.

We have a large team of permanent staff, including former Directors, Assistant Directors, advisers and service heads from Local Authorities and partner agencies with specialist knowledge and a proven track record in the full range of Children’s Services functions. Our team of associates provides additional specialist capacity and works closely with members of our permanent team.

The Capita Strategic Children's Services team has experience and expertise in developing radical, innovative solutions across a wide range of services in response to national, regional and local need.

Our service has been shaped to reflect our commitment to improvement for children, young people and families and the effective delivery of the five Every Child Matters outcomes, as well as narrowing the gaps to deliver improved outcomes for all children.

Over the last eight years we have provided interim management support and consultancy to over 60 Local Authorities and we have undertaken a number of projects for the DfE and Government Offices. We have also managed the delivery of the National Strategies on behalf of the DfE and through that have worked in partnership with all English first-tier local authorities to secure improvements in the quality of teaching and learning in early years and schools for children aged 0 to 19.

Capita Strategic Education Services began its life in January 2001 and, as the national agenda increasingly began to focus on a holistic approach to services for children and families, we reflected that national policy agenda by widening our service offer and becoming Capita Strategic Children’s Services.
