Consultant profile 5

Professional Background

Having taught in a range of schools across the country, from urban to rural and from 11-16 to 13-19 and having been the secondary headteacher of an extended school, our consultant has direct experience of both teaching and school leadership. His work with the Open University on curriculum evaluation, his years as a Registered Inspector with OfSTED and his serious and abiding intent to help underachieving learners reach their potential have remained constant through the more recent, strategic local authority roles he has held – as Head of Kent’s Advisory Service or as an Assistant Director of Hertfordshire’s Children, School and Families Service.

Profile

The consultant has a particular interest in Leadership Development. Drawing on many years of middle and senior leadership experience in schools, alongside that of the complex local government structures he has worked in, he has put this learning to good use as trainer, coach and consultant. Over a five year period, he helped set up headteacher development programmes in Russia and Cyprus on behalf of the British Council as well as bring together the UK southern region’s development centre which now provides NPQH and other programmes on behalf of the National College for School Leadership.
